This elliptical seems like a solid unit. I find the placement of the arms a little too wide for comfort even when using the option closer to the operator. The program options are limited and very simplistic compared to other ellipticals with minimal options for customization.

My wife and I went to Johnson Fitness to just look at ellipticals. Big Bobby greated us and made us feel welcome right away. He recognized my wife was a serious workout girl and directed her to the top four models. As she tried each one, he explained the pros and cons of each model. As my wife zeroed in on the A50, Big Bobby kicked into gear and began to offer us great discounts on the elliptical. Big Bobby offered the new elliptical delivered and set up, the old elliptical in our basement removed, and a new floor mat included fort lease $1000 less than if I had purchased this elliptical online. The closing point for me was Bobby telling me that if anything happens to the elliptical, all I have to do is call him and he will take care of it with the warranty. That personal feeling that the seller cares is very hard to find these days. If you are interested in any exercise equipment that Johnson has, I highly recommend going to the store and talking to Big Bobby! He will make your visit worth your while!

The matrix A50 is a part of our family now and off to a great start!! This piece of equipment is so quiet and easy to use it makes my workouts seem effortless!! I love the variety of programs

The elliptical is solid, built fairly well. Be wary of the iFit programs. They mean well but the tech hardware on the upgraded screens is antiquated and more trouble then it’s worth even with exceptional customer service that Johnson Fitness provides. 2.4ghz WiFi is dropped often and doesn’t work well with upgraded home WiFi systems . IFit is about $320 annually for training programs, once you’re on the hook for that you spend about 20% of your time managing the internet connection be actually working out. Also probably not a piece of equipment for very serious athletes despite the cost. Based on the cost, cannot recommend. I’d go with a vision despite the lack of bells and whistles which do seem appealing until you try to use them.

We have now had our new matrix for about three weeks now and have absolutely loved it. We love the programs that are on it and the apps that are available to watch our shows and different interactions to keep us informed and busy while we are walking, etc.We love how smooth, the transition is between inclines etc. it’s been the best investment we have made

I really enjoy this elliptical. It has a smooth feeling to it which allows me get my heart rate up without putting unnecessary stress on my joints. Highly recommend.

If you are tall (6' ish), you may be unsatisfied with the 20-24" stride, which feels more like riding a bike than going for a run. If they opened this up another foot, this machine would be perfect. However, with the short stride, it feels too limiting. The rest of the technology in this machine is great.
